Modern Dance
Guided by passion and discipline, Tampines Meridian Dance Society trains in contemporary, hip-hop, and waacking. Members perform at school events and the Singapore Youth Festival.
At Tampines Meridian Modern Dance, we celebrate the artistry of movement and the joy of expressing ideas through dance. Our dancers are encouraged to explore their artistic potential while developing versatility across a diverse range of styles, including contemporary, hip-hop, waacking, jazz, and other modern dance genres. Through expressive movement and imaginative choreography, they bring stories and emotions to life on stage.
Guided by our passionate and experienced dance instructors and CCA Teachers-in-Charge, members are nurtured in an environment that upholds commitment, integrity, respect, and excellence. Through training sessions, showcases, and collaborative creative processes, students cultivate discipline, professionalism, accountability, and trust while learning to support one another in pursuing a shared artistic vision. Members are also encouraged to experiment with choreography, develop their own artistic identity, and contribute original ideas that enrich the ensemble's repertoire.
The Modern Dance CCA actively participates in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation. Beyond SYF, the ensemble performs regularly at a wide range of college and external events, including TMJC Open House, JC1 Orientation, SONRISA (the College Combined Performing Arts Concert), and community performances. These opportunities allow members to refine their craft, connect with diverse audiences, and contribute to the vibrant performing arts culture of the College while inspiring others through their passion, artistry, and dedication.
